Wandering around the streets of Copenhagen, it’s hard not to fall in love with this ancient yet modern city. From the herds of happy Danes (the happiest people in the world!) on bikes, to the copper spires and statues, it’s the perfect city for a weekend away.
Fall is the most beautiful backdrop for this Viking-founded city. The brilliant colors of falling leaves, the quieter streets, and cafe culture make it easy to find good food and great company. But be sure to bring your umbrella! It rains frequently and heavily during the changing seasons.
You’ll also need to pack an empty stomach on your trip to the city. Copenhagen boasts a plethora of Michelin starred restaurants, including the highly sought after Noma. If your budget doesn’t extend that far (or if you aren’t able to reserve a table), head over to a Madklubben, of which there are several seasonal and delicious restaurants.

- Copenhagen is a Foodie’s paradise. We recommend grabbing a meal at both Eat Me and Madklubben.
- Amalienborg Palace is a fascinating stop in the city.
- Walk past the Nyhavn area of the city to peruse the endless sailboats and water taxis.
- A trip inside either The Church of Our Lady or The Marble Church is a great escape from the rain if you’re visiting during the fall months.
